Grounding isn’t just about calming down. In yoga, we use two pathways:

🌿 Langhana (downregulation): cooling, calming, slowing the system when overstimulated. THINK : dimming the lights down
🔥 Brahmana (upregulation): activating, energizing, and lifting energy when shut down. THINK: turning the lights on

Both are essential for a regulated nervous system. When you know how to choose Langhana or Brahmana techniques, you meet your body exactly where it is — not where you think it “should” be.

🌿✨ Yesterday we met as a collective for a Mindful Movement Fundraiser for Gaza. It was a reminder of how powerful it is when bodies, breath, and creativity come together for healing and hope.

We drew visions of a free world on our mats, softened into a watercolor meditation, and let movement + breath carry us into connection. 💛

Every practice was an offering of compassion, resilience, and solidarity. Together, we held space for peace—both within and beyond us. 🌍🕊️

I’m in awe of the donations that came in that will go to support . Special shout-out thanks to for hosting the space and for coordinating and .creativecurrent for helping to co-facilitate this event with me.

So many people think inner child healing means “teaching your younger parts to grow up.” ❌

But your inner child isn’t broken or immature. She’s the part of you that still holds tender vulnerabilities — the pain you carried when you didn’t get the care, love, or safety you needed.

Healing means meeting those parts with compassion. 💫
🌑 Shadow work helps us see the feelings we’ve hidden.
💫 IFS helps us listen without judgment.
🌱 Somatic yoga allows the body to feel, release, and integrate.

When your stomach knots up, it might be your 7-year-old self speaking.

Your gut isn’t just about digestion — it’s your emotional vault. 🗝️🌀

If you’ve ever felt butterflies when nervous, a knot in your stomach when upset, or cramps during stress… that’s your gut talking to you. And sometimes? It’s your inner child doing the talking.

Early childhood stress can wire your gut to stay on high alert. The enteric nervous system — your ‘second brain’ — remembers those moments when you felt unsafe, unseen, or unheard. That means even years later, a small trigger can send your belly into defense mode.
