“Why Resurrection Matters and How It Gives Hope"

Today's Devotional 4-20-2025

Because He rose, we can rise—above fear, above failure, and even above the sting of death.

The cross was the altar, but the empty tomb is the victory. The resurrection of Jesus is not a footnote in the story of salvation—it is the hinge upon which all hope swings.

Without the resurrection, we do not just lose a celebration—we lose our foundation.

✨ "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" (Psalm 11:3 KJV)

The apostle Paul writes with clarity:

✨ "If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith." (1 Corinthians 15:13–14 NIV)

Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, declares to the world that death does not get the final word. It is the divine exclamation point at the end of Christ’s earthly mission.

✨ “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness...” (Romans 3:25 NIV)

Through the resurrection:

Sin is not just paid for—it is conquered.

Death is not just faced—it is defeated.

Life is not just endured—it is renewed.

This means Christ didn’t rise alone—He rose first. And where He goes, we who believe shall follow.

✨ “But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.”
(1 Corinthians 15:20)

And today, this resurrection gives us hope.

Hope that the worst thing is never the last thing.
Hope that our tears are not wasted.
Hope that even in the dark, light is breaking through.
Hope that brokenness can be mended, that dead dreams can breathe again, and that joy is still possible even after deep sorrow.

Because He rose, we can rise—above fear, above failure, and even above the sting of death.

Why does Resurrection matter?
It proves that love is stronger than death, that truth will rise no matter how deeply buried, and that every believer stands in the shadow of a risen King who is not finished with our story.

As believers we must live each day with resurrection boldness.

Today and every day we should give reverence to our
Risen Savior; Thank Him for the cross, and thank Him for the empty tomb.

In a world that often feels lifeless and weary, may His resurrection power stir new life in us. To help us live not as one defeated by death, but as one raised with Christ—full of hope, joy, and unwavering faith.

Happy Resurrection Sunday 🌿

Having a Heart to Serve Others ❤️

When you’re in pain, who’s the person you’re thinking of the most? You!

It’s your nature to be self-centered—because you’re human. When you’re suffering, you want to be comforted. When you’re sick, you want to be cared for. When you’re sad, you want to be held. Pain makes you self-centered.

But God says that, if you’re going to learn how to love like he does, you’ve got to try to see other people’s pain, even when you’re in pain.

Jesus is our greatest example of this. When he was hanging on the cross, he was in enormous physical, emotional, and spiritual pain. He was carrying all the sin of the world! But in his dying moments, he noticed the pain of others.

He prayed, “Father, forgive them. They don’t know what they’re doing” (Luke 23:34 GW). And he said to the guy next to him, “Today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43 GW). He also made sure his mother would be cared for. He wasn’t thinking about himself, even when he was in agony.

God’s Word says you should have the same attitude as Jesus (Philippians 2:5). That means, when you’re in pain, you should look around and see who else is in pain. You should think of others, even as you care for yourself.

Hold on to Faith ❤️
1 Corinthians 10:13 AMP
No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]."
