Exploration of arctic animals this month at the WordPlay Canton office, with Bridget, has been so much fun! Building our own Polar Bear Islands with magnatiles and talking about social themes within the “Polar Bear Island” book has been so engaging! Some of the younger learners have used these materials to talk about shapes, numbers and colors. 🐻‍❄️💙💚💛

This week’s theme at the WordPlay Canton office is gingerbread!

During some of this week’s sessions, Bridget used these wonderful and fun materials to target pretend play, sequencing actions and seasonal vocabulary embedded within functional phrases. They even used homemade gingerbread play doh!

For other sessions this week, literacy skills with story recall and making predictions were targeted. Also targeted were actions and sequencing through literacy and play. Additionally, emotional vocabulary with relatable scenarios were targeted through play!
