For all the soon to be Kindergarten kids that need a well check and their vaccines before they register for school….call to get them in during our carnival days. This is next week and they need their vaccines before registering for kindergarten.

Yes this has been true here in Cedar as well. Unfortunately we have had lots of admissions and really miserable sick kids seen in the office from influenza. As always we recommend you get your kids vaccinated including the flu shot.

Seasonal influenza remains very high across the country. AAP analysis found that hospital admissions for kids ages 5-17 saw a 145% increase between January 4th and February 1st and new Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data says 68 children have now died of influenza-associated deaths this season. The CDC classified this season as “high severity” for all age groups, which it hasn’t done since the 2017 flu season. AAP and CDC recommend everyone 6 months and older get vaccinated against the flu and it’s not too late to get a flu shot! Happy New Year to all of our patients and their families! We hope you have all have a safe and fun time celebrating. As the year comes to a close we are thankful for being able to participate in helping your child grow and develop as we work with you in all the aspects of your child’s health. Thanks for trusting us to provide health care to your children and we look forward to an awesome 2025! 🎉🎊 We will be closed tomorrow January 1st. See you all in 2025. Also don’t forget to come in for your seasonal flu shot if you haven’t already. Influenza is spreading quickly and seeing a lot of it daily. We allow walk ins Monday-Friday 9-4.

The trees are all raffled to help some great local charities! Today is World Mental Health Day! 🌎🧠💚

Did you know that 1 in 5 children and adolescents ages 3-17 in the United States have a mental, emotional, developmental, or behavioral disorder? In fact, Mental health challenges are the leading cause of death and disability in this age group and studies find that 70% to 80% of children with mental health disorders go without care.
