DO YOU HAVE MOM GUILT?! Mom guilt is a real feeling, but so is regular guilt. 🀯🀯 Let's not exclude anyone who isn't a mom yet because we actually have these same feelings in all phases of our lives. As kids, as teenagers, when we are dating, during marriage, when we become mothers, when our kids get out of the house, and so on... Guilt is normal!! πŸ’ŽπŸ’ŽIt's an indicator of underlying issues when feelings become excessive, all-consuming, and interfere with daily living. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ Check your guilt- where is it stemming from?! You are certainly stronger than you think you are!!! We are focusing on getting stronger emotionally, mentally, and now physically. Get out and move!! Even if it's stretching. BUT GUESS WHAT!! Becoming physically strong doesn't just mean being active- it also means giving your body what it needs. Sometimes, that's rest. Listen to what your body needs! Do you relate to me?! I used to push away my feelings and hide them. I ate my emotions. I had pent up anger. My body couldn't release weight. I would get more sick and more sick as time went on. I would get migraines daily. I hated who I saw in the mirror; not just physically but in all aspects of who I was as a human being. My personality started changing. I wasn't me anymore. 😭😭😭😭😭

Being able to manage our emotions empowers us to live life with optimism. πŸ€—πŸ€© One way to check our emotions is to journal. My journal writing is quite different than most peoples, but I like to word vomit my emotions. πŸ’ I literally write down allllll my feelings- the good, the bad, the ugly and I keep writing until I don't have anymore words. Then guess what, I crumble it up and throw it away. πŸ—‘οΈ This exercise helps me release and take back what I can control- ME! πŸ™Œ

Even though people struggle on the inside, we can look totally 'fine and happy' on the outside. Healing starts within, and then manifests itself outward. 🀯 You know the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover?" Its true. Don't judge any person by their 'cover'. Chances are- they probably have more in common with you than you'd think! πŸ™Œ

A takeaway from my post partum journey is this: You never know what someone is going through. Be kind, and don't compare yourself! You are on your journey, and it may be a long road, but eventually you'll arrive at your destination! Your daily decisions influence your destiny. β€οΈπŸ’ŽπŸ’„

I want you to look at these beautiful ladies in this picture: Every single one of us here in this picture struggles with Self Esteem in some way or another. I know that because we were writing down a word that we felt during some of the darkest times in our lives. Those words were a reflection of our Self Esteem then. Self Esteem is confidence in our individual worth. Sadly, the majority who have a low Self Esteem base their worth off of how they look; "I am fat, I am ugly, my nose is too big, I hate my hair, I hate my laugh, I wish my b***s were bigger, my teeth are hideous, I have a big butt, etc" 😭 Thoughts and words have a powerful presence. They can make or break us!

I don't know about you, but I don't love being a mom ALLL the time. In fact, most days I don't. It took me quite a while to be okay with that feeling after a lot of therapy!! 😭 Here I was struggling with infertility, then to being blessed with two miracles, to losing myself, to realizing I love my children so much, but I don't love being a mom- how?!! When you become a mom people tell you how amazing it is and how everything revolves around your littles- that's all true... but what people don't tell you is that its okay to not love being a mom all the time because you aren't just a mom all the time!!! You are YOU! And guess what?! ITS OKAY TO RECOGNIZE THAT!!! Maybe you struggle with loving your most divine calling too?! Well guess what friend, you are a Diamond in the Rough but soooo RESILIENT! You can do hard things!! You need to give yourself permission to feel. We need MORE 'MOM's to feel themselves- not what others expect them to be. πŸ˜ŠοΈπŸ€©πŸ‘ΌπŸ™

The most simple way to describe self care is this: taking care of YOU! Mentally. Emotionally. Physically. Spiritually.

I hope you understand the value of gratitude and how essential it is to have a support system. I invite you to choose one person from your list that you made (or thought about), and send that person a THANK YOU text, phone call, Marco Polo, etc.❀ Gratitude changes you, and others. The more gratitude we express vocally, the more gratitude we can have mentally for ourselves and others! Our support person needs to feel valued and appreciated just like you do! πŸ’ͺ

Have you thanked yourself for showing up, for your kindness, for the love you give, for your beauty, for your mind, for your heart, etc.? Thank yourself!

This man is my best friend, my whole world, the love of my life. 😍 When I started struggling with Post Partum Depression and Anxiety I felt like I had to hide it from him and the rest of my family in order to be strong. I was terrified of what others would think about me. Such a silly thought, but it felt so real. We talk so mean to ourselves! We are our worst enemy. We are a bully. We teach our kids to not be a bully, but how hypocritical are we when we bully ourselves?! πŸ˜­πŸ€¦πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€―

Let's take action and work on that!
