Medical Biller and Coder at an established medical clinic in Cedar City, Utah. Part time (three days a week). Medical clinic billing/coding experience required. General Job Requirements:
*Accepting patient payments and handling insurance questions
*Sending and receiving medical claims
Insurance and patient payment posting to electronic medical record
*Reviewing and sending patient statements
*Reviewing and sending collection statements
*Coding and reviewing medical charts prior to claim submission
*Answering telephone calls, scheduling appointments, and answering patient questions
*Entering patient information into electronic medical record
*Coordinating care between medical offices and sending patient referrals
Required Qualifications:
*High School Diploma/GED
*Able to cooperate well with patients, staff members, practitioners, and insurance agencies
*Flexible and friendly disposition
*Medical field experience, preferably in billing/coding
*Work well as part of a team
*Maintain clean office space
*Preform other required or assigned job functions
*Proficiency in electronic medical records, windows, *Microsoft word, and Microsoft excel
Preferred Qualifications:
*Three or more months of medical receptionist or assistant/billing/coding experience
*Medical billing coding certification
Physical Demands:
*Lifting less than 25 lbs
*Sitting and standing intermittently
*Able to work 8-10 hour days with 1 hour lunch breaks
