What Happened to Dr. Rob?
Greetings friends! My family and I sure miss you all. Life is going extremely well for us and we hope the same for you. Many of you have wondered what happened to us. There are lots of rumors running around. It's funny to hear them all. So here is the "REAL" scoop. Many of you know, I am a dentist, but I'm also an entrepreneur at heart. I created a referring software called ReferralWeb 5 yrs back. ( www.referralweb.com ) This software helps patients when being referred to dental specialists. ReferralWeb has really taken off and is merging with a dental software company up north in Lehi, called WEAVE ( www.getweave.com ). I sold my practice to Dr. Steve Banks in order to pursue the success of this exciting business opportunity. Honestly, Dr. Banks is one of the best guys I know. He is extremely talented in his dentistry and is gentle and caring. I highly recommend him. Well, that's it. Our hearts are with each of you in Cedar. Merry Christmas to you all. Amazing case I just finished. I wish I could show her face. It made such a bid difference. This patient had defective enamel and suffered for years with her enamel wearing away and chipping off. I was so happy to help give her smile back. Props to my brother Brandon Barrick, our in house lab tech. Does amazing work.

I love being a dentist. It feels great to help people. I always wondered why dentists seemed to have the highest depression and su***de rate. I guess sometimes it does get hard being in a profession where you know most people dislike coming to you because it can be uncomfortable; unlike professions like massage therapy. (I can't remember a time I went to get a back massage and felt anxiety.)
I wonder if Massage therapists ever feel under appreciated. I'm always walking out of there telling them that they are the best ever.

Thankfully for me, helping patients overcome their fear of dentistry has been one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. It's always rewarding when I am able to take an extremely anxious patient and turn them into a patient who actually enjoys coming.

Bottom line. Take time to thank your doctors and dentists. Appreciate them more and express it more, even if treatment is uncomfortable. Without them the world, your world would be much less enjoyable and more difficult. Modern dentistry is such a blessing in our lives. Next chance you get, take time to thank your dentist for that numb lip :)
