🧷 Did you know there are NO government programs that cover the cost of diapers for most families?
No WIC. No SNAP. Nothing.
That means families in our own Cedar City community are sometimes reusing disposable diapers, fashioning alternatives out of paper towels, or missing work because daycares won't accept children without a full diaper supply.
Our clinician Jen saw this need firsthand — and did something about it. The Iron County Diaper Pantry (ICDP) distributes packs of diapers twice a month to families who need them, right here in Iron County. No formal paperwork. No judgment. Just support.
📦 Diapers are available for pickup right in the Mending Minds lobby.

Diaper need is a mental health issue — when basic needs go unmet, the whole family feels it. We're proud to be part of the solution. 💙

Parents are missing an average of 5.1 days of work or school per month because of diaper need. Let that sink in.
When families can’t afford diapers, the ripple effects hit hard — missed work, lost childcare, and real strain on mental health.
Our own Jen runs the Iron County Diaper Pantry right here in Cedar City to help bridge that gap. Diapers are donated by the community, rewrapped in packs of 25, and available for pickup twice a month.

Did you know that one of our clinicians here at Mending Minds also runs the Iron County Diaper Pantry?
Jen started the ICDP in 2021 out of a backyard shed, and it’s grown into a vital resource for families across our community. Diapers can cost over $100/month per child — and when families can’t access them, it affects everything: work, school, childcare, and mental health.
There are no government programs that cover diapers. Not WIC. Not SNAP. That’s where the ICDP steps in.

“Are you going to tell us who’s right?”

Nope. That’s not my job.

My job is to help you both feel heard, understand each other’s experience, and walk out with real tools—not just good intentions.

I use the Gottman Method, which is built on 40+ years of research studying what actually makes relationships work. We look at how you communicate, where you get stuck, and how to repair when things go sideways.

It’s not what you see in the movies. It’s better.

“We’re fine.”“It’s not that bad.”“We don’t need therapy.”

I hear this a lot. And here’s what I’ve noticed: the couples who show up before it’s a crisis? They do some of the most powerful work.

You don’t need to be on the edge to start. If you’re coexisting instead of connecting, if the same argument keeps coming back, or if you just want something deeper—that’s enough.

Couples therapy, but make it spicy 🌶️

Come argue in front of me 🧡

I'm officially taking couples here at Mending Minds, and I could not be more excited.
Here's the deal: conflict isn't the problem. It's what happens after the conflict that matters. Do you repair? Or do you retreat? That's what we work on together.

Whether you're stuck in the same argument, navigating a big transition, or just want to be a better partner — this space is for you.

Gottman-informed. Attachment-focused. Skills-based. And zero judgment.

Let's talk. 📞 435.263.0254 | mendingmindsutah.com

I’m going to be straight with you, because that’s how I operate.

I’m a guy who works hard, loves his family, and has been through some things that would knock most people flat. I’ve lost a child. I’ve carried weight I didn’t know how to put down. I’ve had days where I just kept moving because stopping felt too dangerous.

And for a long time, like a lot of men, I figured that was just the deal. You push through. You don’t complain. You handle it.
Here’s what I’ve learned: handling it alone doesn’t make you stronger. It just makes you more tired.

I’m talking to the dads, the husbands, the guys keeping the wheels turning at home and at work. The ones who are fine — until they’re not. The ones whose kids are watching how they handle hard things, whether they know it or not.

Getting help isn’t weakness. Knowing when you’re carrying too much and doing something about it — that’s exactly what strong looks like.

Mending Minds here in Cedar City has been part of our family’s story. Good therapists. Real people. No judgment. They work with men, they work with families, and they take most major insurance.

If something’s been weighing on you — grief, stress, anger, just feeling like you’re running on empty — reach out. Not for some abstract idea of “self care.” For your wife. For your kids. For yourself.

Being a man is tough enough. You shouldn’t have to do it alone.

Hey again — Brooklyn here. 👋
Last time I talked about some of the signs that kids and teens might benefit from therapy. And a few of you reached out with questions — which I loved.
But I also heard something I hear a lot: hesitation. And I get it. There are so many myths floating around about what therapy actually is — especially for kids. So let’s talk about a few of the big ones.
❌ Myth #1: “My child isn’t ‘bad enough’ to need therapy.”
✅ Truth: Therapy isn’t just for crisis. It’s for any child who could use a little extra support navigating big feelings, friendships, or life changes. You don’t have to be in a dark place to deserve help.
❌ Myth #2: “Therapy will make my kid think something is ‘wrong’ with them.”
✅ Truth: Good therapy does the opposite. It helps kids understand themselves better, feel less alone, and build real confidence. Most kids actually look forward to their sessions.
❌ Myth #3: “They’ll just talk about their feelings for an hour and nothing will change.”
✅ Truth: Modern therapy — especially for kids — is practical and skill-based. We work on real tools: how to calm down when overwhelmed, how to handle conflict, how to recognize what they’re feeling and why.
❌ Myth #4: “Seeking therapy means I failed as a parent.”
✅ Truth: It means the exact opposite. Getting your child support takes courage and awareness. The parents who reach out are the ones paying attention.
If you’ve been on the fence, I hope this helps. And if you have a question you’ve been afraid to ask — drop it in the comments. No judgment here. 💚

👋 Hey, I’m Brooklyn — an intern therapist here at Mending Minds, and I work a lot with kids, teens, and families.
One of the most common things I hear from parents is: “Is this just a phase, or should I be worried?”
It’s such a fair question. Here are a few signs that therapy might be a helpful next step:

🟢 For Kids:
Persistent sadness, anxiety, or anger that doesn’t seem to fade
Struggles at school or with friendships
Big fears, frequent meltdowns, or a hard time adjusting to change

🟢 For Teens:
Withdrawing from friends or activities they used to love
Changes in sleep or appetite
Mood shifts that feel like more than typical teenage ups and downs
Early support matters — and you don’t have to wait until things feel like a crisis.

If something feels off, I’d love to help. 💚Reach out at (435) 263-0254 or visit mendingmindsutah.com to learn more.
