"D.A.S.H." to Healthy Blood Pressure!

High blood pressure is often called the silent killer because it can sneak up without any symptoms, but the good news is that it's manageable with small daily changes.

One of the most effective tools is the DASH diet, which stands for "Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension." This heart-healthy eating plan focuses on increasing fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and low fat dairy while simultaneously reducing sodium, saturated fats, and added sugars.

Following the DASH diet doesn't mean giving up all your favorite foods. It encourages balance and mindful choices. Small swaps can make a huge impact. Whether you're a home cook or eating out for lunch, consider more fresh produce and fewer packaged snacks, choosing baked foods over fried, and seasoning with herbs instead of salt.

Even though Richfield is at least 550 miles from the closest ocean, the staff has been celebrating their version of Shark Week! How many sharks can you count in this picture (you may have to zoom in to see some of them)?

While we're talking about teeth, just a reminder that our FourPoints clinics in Richfield and Cedar offer dental services. Unfortunately, unless we're talking about baby teeth, adults don't have a continuous tooth replacement system like sharks. Take care of the ones you have!

The PITU Administration Offices and all FourPoints Health Clinics will be closed Thursday, July 24. Normal business hours will resume on Friday, July 25.

National Health Center Week is Aug. 3-9, and FourPoints is excited to participate this year by once again hosting our Patient Appreciation & Meet the Staff event at all of our clinics on Tuesday, Aug. 5. (see flyer for event locations)

Each location will have free treats and swag, plus chances to win tickets to Lagoon (two tickets per location).

NOTE: The Kanosh clinic staff will be set up at the park by the Territorial Statehouse in Fillmore. See flyer for the address.

The theme of this year's NHCW is "60 Years of Improving Our Nation's Health." Whether you're a longtime patient or thinking about trying us out, come out to the event and visit with us.

On Wednesday, July 16, the FourPoints Health clinics and PITU administration offices will be closed after the following times:

• FourPoints Health Richfield and Kanosh clinics: Closed at 11 a.m.
• FourPoints Health St. George clinic: Closed at noon
• FourPoints Health Cedar City clinic and PITU admin: Closed at 12:30 p.m.

Any phone calls received after those hours will be returned on Thursday.

Help us congratulate Julianna Painton on her one-year anniversary with FourPoints Health.

Julianna is a dental assistant in our Cedar City clinic, and she says loves being able to help the community. She also enjoys the work environment, where she says she learns something new every day. But it's also fun. "We always have something going on with all the workers, and everyone is included."

Julianna has lived in Utah her whole life. Previous to Cedar City, she lived in Kanab. She started her working life young, getting her first official job (working at a restaurant) when she was 13! She worked there until moving to Cedar when she was 18. These days, she still works hard, but when she isn't doing that, she enjoys "anything outdoors," including camping, hiking, and going to the lake.

Julianna, thank you for helping our community feel better about their smiles!
