Though Christmas is just a couple of days away, we are in the office for the rest of the day today, and will be back on Friday morning. We will also be in the office next week on the 29th, 30th, and the morning of the 31st! If you're stressed from the holidays and need to loosen up, or if you want to use the last of your insurance benefits for the year, we're here for whatever you may need.
We will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas, and New Years Eve afternoon.

Even though it's Columbus day, our office is open and we are ready to get you adjusted! We will be open the rest of this week today through Wednesday.
Dr. Sheldon and Michelle just celebrated their 20th anniversary last week and will be going out of town to celebrate. Our office will be closed Thursday October 16-Monday October 20th. We'll be back in the office on Tuesday October 21st.

Today we celebrate the founding of the chiropractic profession. On Sept. 18, 1895, Daniel David (D.D.) Palmer performed the first chiropractic adjustment on Harvey Lillard in downtown Davenport, Iowa, and the chiropractic profession was born.

I just had my 6 week orthopedic appointment after my mountain bike crash. It's all good news and I've been cleared to return to normal activity and working. My shoulder has healed the way they expected and range of motion is great. Thank you for your patience during this time, and our office is open normal hours with normal adjusting! And if you injure yourself while out playing/working/living life, come get taken care of, we'll get you back out there(as long as you didn't break anything!)

It’s been a long 6 weeks while I’ve been recovering from injuring my shoulder, but I’m back in the office and adjusting as normal. If you’ve been waiting to get back in, now’s the time for a great adjustment!

One question I get a lot of is "What's the best mattress?". There are a ton of mattresses out there, and every one is different, just like every body is different. My usual recommendation though, is a firm mattress with a soft top. If your mattress is too soft it won't support your spine and you'll wake up with more pain, and if it's too firm, it may make your muscles sore. In fact, if you're waking up in more pain than you went to sleep with, you probably need a new or different mattress.
We have some great mattress stores here in Cedar that I usually refer people to, but if you are in the market right now for a new one, Cedar High School band is having a mattress sale fundraiser in October. They're turning the band room into a mattress show room for one day only for anyone to come and try out and potentially buy a new mattress(as well as bed frames, bean bag chairs, sheet sets, etc.). It's a good opportunity to get a cheaper name brand mattress and support our local youth!

It's been three weeks since my mountain bike crash and shoulder injury. We thought we would have to keep our office closed for a month or more but I am ready to be back in the office! Most of the adjusting I am doing right now is about the same as what I've always done, though the neck adjusting is a little bit different. If you'd like to schedule an appointment with us, just give us a call and we'll get you in whenever it works for you. We really appreciate that Dr. Steve Poulos at Simply Chiropractic has been taking such good care of our patients while I've been out of the office, he's who I usually go see when I need an adjustment too.

We just wanted to give you a quick update about Dr. Sheldon's shoulder. The orthopedist said that he won't be able to do regular adjusting for a few more weeks. However, he's able to do activator adjusting! If you're not familiar with the activator, it's the silver clicky adjusting tool he uses sometimes. Some patients ask to only be adjusted with it, some people who don't like their neck adjusted manually by hand ask to be adjusted with it. If you'd like to try it out or have had this kind of adjustment in the past and are ready to get back in, give us a call or shoot us an email and make sure to tell our receptionist you're good with the activator and we'll get you scheduled!

Dr Sheldon will be out of the office due to a mountain bike injury that resulted in a separated ac joint, a broken rib, and a broken shoulder blade. He will be gone through August 8th and then he will reevaluate if he is able to resume seeing patients on Monday the 11th. We will update accordingly. If you have any questions please feel free to call the office at 435-867-8986 and Michelle will be more than happy to help you.

Happy Independence Day!(tomorrow) We will be out of the office for the parade, but will be in the office from about 10:30-1 on Friday July 4th. If you want to be in your best shape for fireworks and fun, give us a call and we'll get you in before the long weekend!
