I’ve always considered myself a survivor—someone who pushes through no matter what. Pride in that grit kept me going even when things weren’t ideal.
But recently, as I’ve started focusing more intentionally on my health and tracking my sleep, I discovered something surprising:
No matter how many hours I was in bed, I was getting less than 10 minutes of deep or REM sleep a night.
That’s barely enough to recover from a single day—let alone fuel a full life.
It was affecting everything:
→ memory
→ mood
→ energy
→ emotional regulation
→ ability to focus
Then I went through Dr. B’s Mentally Strong program—just two sessions—and made a few changes to my sleep environment (Sleep Eight for the win).
After two days of that work, I clocked over 1 hour and 15 minutes of both deep and REM sleep.
That’s more restorative sleep in one night than I had been getting in a week.
I can feel the difference already—and it’s a powerful reminder:
👉 Just because we can push through doesn’t mean we should.
👉 Strength doesn’t mean ignoring the signs—sometimes it’s about listening deeper.
If you’re running on willpower and white-knuckling through the day, I highly recommend checking out Dr. B’s work. It might just change everything.
