Cara earned the Certified Health Coach (CHC) credential from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute (DSWI), which combined nutrition education with an emphasis on families, adults, and seniors. She went on to earn the Master Certified Health Coach (MCHC) designation with DSWI. DSWI Master Certified Health Coaches have met the rigorous standards of the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches, covering 135 competencies in coaching structure, coaching process, coaching ethics, and health and wellness. It's Valentine's Day💕, which falls, as you may have noted, during Heart ♥️Health Month. One of the best things we can do for our hearts is to get moving🚴. One thing we may experience as we age is a loss of balance⚖️ Here are some simple exercises to get you moving and help you to improve your balance! Just because it says its for Seniors, doesn't mean the young and spry can't do these too. They are good for all ages and fitness levels. t was so much fun serving at the Senior Adult Valentine's Day Brunch at my church this past Saturday. Kudos for all who showed up on that snowy day! 🍲This three bean chili is a great, easy way to get more plants into your diet.
Put all the ingredients into your slow-cooker before work or the night before, allow it to cook while you are at work, and come home to an appetizing aroma and a dinner ready to eat! Pair with a salad if you like.
🧅Onions provide antioxidants which help prevent cell damage and the antioxidant quercetin found in onions can help prevent inflammation.

Which of the products in your kitchen contain corn syrup? Were you surprised to find some products that you thought did not require sweetener actually have corn syrup or some other kind of sweetener in them? I’m interested in what you found out! Let me know in the comments.

For my friends north of the border, you may find this ingredient listed as glucose-fructose, which is high fructose corn syrup in the US. There is a difference.

I get it.
I felt this way too. I felt I couldn’t afford to be coached or add organics to my routine. However, I did decide to invest in being coached, and that investment was pivotal for me.

❓Why?

😮I learned that even though I had been doing some things right, I had been misinformed about SO much more.

✅I learned that 60% of our health is determined by our behaviors, and only 30% is determined by our DNA. I have some measure of control over my health!

💰I learned that investing in my health now will allow me to enjoy that investment I’ve made in my retirement years, rather than spending it sick 😷 in bed or at medical appointments.

✅I learned that food 🥬quality is key so I switched to buying organic and shopping the store perimeter as much as possible.

✅I realized that spending more on quality food could end up being cheaper in the long run if I can reduce the risk of or prevent cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other illnesses along with reducing or eliminating the need for expensive medications. I have to eat anyway, so why not?

The RESULTS 📈of investing in a coach and some new habits?

✅I felt better. I had more energy ⚡️. I had better thinking. I slept better. I still enjoy physical activities. 🥾🚴‍♂️

You have to understand that I was fairly healthy when I learned all this science-based information. Or at least I thought I was. And I improved. And I try to learn more every chance I get.

The coaching was pivotal in my life, so much so, that I became even more passionate about wanting to help others experience what I did, so I changed my career!
