According to the National Weather Service, wind chill advisories or warnings will not be issued any more. Instead of wind chill advisories or warnings, strong winds will be combined into the existing Extreme Cold Warning and will now be called Extreme Cold Watches.
Sanford's Ryan Sivertson, MD, says that with the cold weather approaching it is important to be aware of the risk of frost bite.
Common symptoms of frost bite may begin as a tingling or numb feeling to the affected area, as your body restricts blood flow to outer extremities.
