Today is pregnancy and infant loss Remembrance Day.

1 in 4 pregnancies ends in loss.
And yet, so many people grieve in silence—feeling alone, unseen, or unsure if their grief “counts.”

As a perinatal mental health therapist, and as someone who has personally experienced loss, I want to say: your grief matters. Whether your loss was early in pregnancy, later, or after birth—your bond was real, your love was real, and so is your grief.

💜 You are not alone.
💜 Your experience deserves to be honored.
💜 There is no “right” way to grieve.

Today is about breaking the silence and holding space for the parents who carry love and loss together.

If you’ve experienced pregnancy or infant loss:
• You are allowed to talk about your baby.
• You are allowed to feel joy, anger, sadness, relief, or all of it at once.
• You are allowed to seek support—professional, peer, or spiritual.

I hope you feel less alone in your journey. And if you know someone who has experienced a loss, remember that a simple “I’m thinking of you” can mean the world.

Let’s Talk About Perinatal Mental Health

Pregnancy and the first year after birth bring huge changes—physically, emotionally, and mentally. While it can be joyful, it can also be overwhelming. Yet too often, parents feel pressure to “just be happy” when they’re struggling inside.

The truth: About 1 in 5 women experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder (PMAD), like postpartum depression or anxiety (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists). These are common and treatable—but silence keeps many from getting help.

Open conversations about mental health during this time can reduce stigma, help loved ones spot signs early, and improve outcomes for both parent and baby.

As a therapist certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International, I’m here to help parents navigate this season with support, compassion, and evidence-based care.

💬 You don’t have to go through it alone.

We are often very critical of our bodies. Which makes sense given ’s constant messages to shrink ourselves and make ourselves smaller. Here’s a reminder 💜 to be kind to your body and give gratitude to all it has carried you through in life. I hope you find ways to move your body joyfully, and learn to have a healthy relationship with food.

One of the reasons we procrastinate is because we are unable to manage negative feelings around doing the task, such as boredom, anxiety, and overwhelm.

In this post, I wanted to share a few ways we can work through some of the most common emotions that lead to procrastination.

Please note that the information I share may not always be applicable to your individual presentation. Humans are complex with specific differences that are not always accounted for in strategies I share. However, I still encourage you to try these tips and find out for yourself whether they work for you or not.

Take care of your mind and body. Love, Nawal ♥️
