Day 95 of 100. Parts Unknown: The Frisco Chapters. 🥘🥊

Until the Busy Dad Fitness budget grows enough to fund my own travel cooking show—think Anthony Bourdain, but with more deadlifts and fewer cigarettes—I will gladly accept invitations from my clients to show me how the pros do it.

Yesterday, I took a tactical detour from my usual "20-minute meal" logistics to learn the art of traditional Indian Curry and Rice.

The Audit:
🥩 Logistics: This definitely wasn't a 20-minute "engine morning" meal. This was a slow-burn, high-precision operation. But the result? Incredible.
🧪 The BDF Approval: While we didn't rush it, the ingredients were clean, the protein was high, and the spices provide a metabolic kick that puts a bland chicken breast to shame.
🧒 The Kid Verdict: Getting the kids to try a traditional curry is like a high-stakes negotiation. Results: They actually liked it. Mission accomplished.

The Future Vision:
Once the BDF brand takes over, I’m upgrading to a "Test Kitchen" where we curate global cuisines and make them "Busy Dad Approved"—minimizing the prep time while maximizing the tradition.

The Wisdom: Don't be so obsessed with your "system" that you miss out on the culture. Sometimes the best way to lead your home is to bring a new world to the dinner table. 🏁

Spent the Easter weekend in Weimar, TX, practicing my drone skills. Watching those storm clouds roll in from above gives you a completely different perspective than standing on the porch.

We call this the "System View."

As a "Busy Dad," it’s easy to get caught in the weeds of the daily grind—the emails, the laundry, the 5:00AM alarm. But once in a while, you have to zoom out. You have to see the "storm clouds" of burnout, isolation, or health issues before they land on your doorstep.

Most guys wait until the first 90-degree day in Frisco to realize their New Balance game is weak. Not here. At Busy Dad Fitness, we train for the specific requirements of the mission—and that mission currently involves a fresh pair of 624s and shorts with at least six pockets.

The Wisdom: It’s okay to have a little fun with the grind. You don’t have to be a "version 0.5" dad just because you’re a dad. You can be the strongest, most capable, and most "aerodynamic" version of the stereotype.

March was a stress test for the Busy Dad Fitness blueprint. Travel, sports seasons, community service, and family transitions.

The Stats (The Raw Data):
🥃 Brotherhood: 4 Days on the Bourbon Trail + Fort Worth Weekend.
🏔️ Presence: Spring Break in Hot Springs + opening weeks of Cricket, Soccer, and Softball.
🥩 Service: 300 meals prepped for Feeding 5K and the Kairos Fundraiser.
📚 The Mind: 8 books finished. Top read: Notes on Being a Man by Scott Galloway. (A must-read for anyone engineering their legacy).
📈 The Socials: My Meta stats are down. I wasn't as "aggressive" with my posting this month.

The Wisdom: Why are the stats down? Because I chose Presence over Pixels. I spent more time in the dirt at the soccer fields and across the table from my friends than I did in front of a screen.

We call that a successful optimization. I didn't want to build a "brand" at the expense of my family; I wanted to build a life that my family actually enjoys.

​Last Sunday, the wives in our Sunday School class decided to play a little joke. They got all the husbands matching Palm Tree polo shirts to wear to church—and didn’t tell us until we showed up.

​The joke was on them. We loved it. >

There is something powerful about a brotherhood that is willing to look like a tropical forest together for a laugh. It’s a reminder that we don’t just lead our homes in isolation; we lead them in community.

​Being a "Busy Dad" isn't just about the grind; it's about having a tribe that keeps things light, keeps you grounded, and isn't afraid to have a little fun while holding the line.

Cohen and I just wrapped our monthly Ultimate Dumbbell Burpee Challenge. 7 minutes on the clock. Maximum output.

The Stats:
📉 Last Month: 25 Reps
📈 This Month: 27 Reps

Let’s be real—he doesn’t "love" this workout. Why? Because it’s objectively hard. It’s heavy, it’s taxing, and it demands everything you’ve got left at the end of the week.

But at Busy Dad Fitness, we don’t chase "easy." We chase "Capable." 🏎️

By hitting 27 reps, Cohen isn't just getting stronger physically; he’s learning the most important lesson a young man can learn: You are capable of doing hard things. He’s seeing that progress isn't a fluke—it's the result of showing up even when you don't feel like it.

Logistics of the Heart. 🤝

While the morning was about training in the garage, the afternoon was about the "Cowboy Cornbread" in the kitchen.

This is the final stage of our Feeding 5000 prep from last week. To most, it’s just a simple meal. To us, it’s the final piece of a logistical puzzle designed to serve the community.

The Wisdom: You can't be a pillar of your community if you’re physically falling apart. We lift the "Weights" so we can carry the "Load." We engineer our health so we have the stamina to show up for missions like this long after the workday is over.
