So many people make new years resolutions, right? We make them with the best of intentions, and then life happens. Some of us are able to persevere and some of us don't. In some cases, people do end up following a portion of their resolutions, but allow others to be put on hold.
What makes people do that? And what determines the difference between those who succeed in the follow through and those who do not?
I've done a lot of changing and growing this past year, and one word comes to mind- commitment.
The BIG ONE!! Lol, just kidding! :)
Everyone starts of being committed, don't they? They really, Really, REALLY want the changes in whatever they've committed to changing, whether it be health, finances, spirituality, relationally.... scholastically... you get the point. But thus the resolution, right?
Here's the clincher- what are you ACTUALLY committed to? The result? Or the person making the results happen?
When we make our resolutions, so many people judge THEMSELVES for not having accomplished their goals before, and so they try harder and harder and burn out by February...ish. The real go getters make it by March or tax season, let's just be real here. Other people have given up on the whole tradition altogether because of unrealized hopes and dreams. They don't believe they can do it anymore, so why even try?
Allow me a moment more to offer this- the new year is not about chin ups, saved pennies, burnt calories, or empty promises. It's about YOU believing in YOU and treating yourself like it. It's about the baby steps and the follow through because you have finally figured out any commitment you make begins with YOU and YOUR WORTH.
Because you are. :) You are absolutely worth it!
You're worth the growth, the healing, the savings, the health, the joy and prosperity. Some believe One man died to make that happen, some are grateful for others who have given their lives for our freedom, or both. :)
But until you realize your worth and accept it, you will not make those changes yet. So I urge you to start there. As this year ends, be thankful for everything you've made it through, and hopeful for the future. Despite the world around us, there is always a reason to hope.
I believe and have hope for my future. So my commitment this year is to engage more with everyone on this platform especially as I grow my business. Meaning, as I open myself to vulnerability and put myself out there- from my heart to my words to my hands.
If you have need of what I have to offer, I'm here :) If not, just he encouraged. You're worth the commitment. You're worth the hope. You're worth your future and the changes it will take to get there, be they big or small.
Thanks for reading!! Have a wonderdul day!!!
