This week is National Doughnut Day and we "do-nut" want to shame you for enjoying a sweet or two during pregnancy!

Pregnancy nutrition should have a goal of consuming more whole foods with a variety of fruits and veggies, healthy fats and whole grains. Pretty much for all of us, pregnant or not!

Check in with yourself. How does your body feel? What do you need to fuel your body (and mind) today?

Have you voiced your expectations?

Do you expect your mother to not overstep boundaries when she usually has a hard time with this? Do you expect your partner to support you in a way that you know does not fit their personality?

Do you expect your birth will go the same way as others in your family have birthed? Has someone else passed fear or doubt onto you about your birth

Having conversations about your expectations with your partner, extended family and provider will help establish your hopes, set boundaries and get the support you want....very few people are mind readers afterall.

One (of many) ways we prevent a Cesarean birth?

We offer External Cephalic Version when you baby is not head down...and we're pretty good at it!

Our providers practice according to the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ACOG) practice guidelines, and can perform an External Cephalic Version (ECV) at 36 weeks if a baby is breech - this will move the head down.

ECV is a very safe procedure, with a high percentage of success. We have a success rate near 80%.

Some moments in pregnancy are delightful.

One of the things that most people love is feeling their baby move.

The little flutters then the kicks....then those big moments, where you're not quite sure what baby has going on in there

Obviously, not all of pregnancy is delightful, but what parts do you feel grateful for?

Being touched during labor is helpful...and healthy.

In fact, studies show that laboring women who had someone holding their hand and offering light massage had with less pain, less anxiety, shorter labors and fewer complications.

As you approach birth - find your person who will be right there with you the whole time. It could be your partner, sister, doula...or all of the above.
