When are most babies born?

The CDC provides birth rate by month data, showing July through October tends to be the most popular birth months in the United States.

August is the overall most popular month for birthdays, which makes sense, considering a late August birthday means December conception.

The birth of a child for the non pregnant parent or father does not involve changes of their body, but they will experience situations and emotions they have not previously.

Often two big fears are being out of control of the situation during labor and fears concerning the safety of their partner and baby.

We foster conversations with you so you receive the best care and we can provide confidence and support for your birth choices and support you through birth.

During pregnancy, do you HAVE to sleep on your left side?

Most pregnancy books will tell you it is imperative that you always sleep on your left side. This is based on the anatomical fact that your Aorta, which is the main oxygen-supplying blood vessel of your body, is located slightly to the right of midline and lying on your left side you may prevent decreased blood flow to the uterus.

However, a healthy baby will not be affected by waking up on your back or right side. It is much more important to get adequate rest than to worry about what side you wake up on in the morning.

Breastfeeding isn't always easy, and it often requires support and education. In addition, there is racial disparity in the rates of people who initiate and continue to breastfeed - which is why Black Breastfeeding Week was created.
This year join us as we encourage and celebrate Black families as they breastfeed their babies.

Which month of pregnancy is the hardest?

Most people are going to say the first and last months of pregnancy are the hardest. The first few month can bring morning sickness and fatigue so strong that your couch is your new best friend.

Then, the ninth month rolls around. Your baby is literally the size of a watermelon and it's getting real clear that it *is* going to come out - which is both exciting and daunting.

Which time was hardest for you? Beginning...or end?

What is a rainbow baby?

A baby born after a miscarriage or loss is often referred to as a rainbow baby.

The rainbow is never a replacement for the child that was lost, but it does symbolize how beautiful and amazing it is to bring a baby into the world after such a loss.

We see birth a lot and while we take great joy in our patients joy, the rainbow babies often get us in the feels. 💜
