Tight hips holding you back? Whether you’re sitting too long or overdoing summer workouts, here are a few simple tips from our PTs to help loosen up and keep you moving comfortably:

✅ Start with a dynamic warm-up – think leg swings, hip circles, or walking lunges
✅ Try the 90/90 stretch – targets both internal and external rotation
✅ Incorporate pigeon pose – great for deep glute and hip release
✅ Use a foam roller – roll out your quads, glutes, and IT bands
✅ Stand up and move often – even just 2 minutes every hour can help
✅ Don’t push through sharp pain – discomfort is normal, pain is not

Gardening should grow flowers, not back pain
If your weekend plans involve digging, planting, or weeding—take a few steps to protect your body before you head outside.

Here are 5 tips to help prevent injury while gardening:

🌱 Warm up first – A quick walk and some light stretching can prep your muscles and joints.
🌱 Lift with your legs, not your back – Keep items close to your body, bend your knees, and avoid twisting.
🌱 Switch positions often – Avoid staying hunched or kneeling too long—change it up every 10–15 minutes.
🌱 Use tools with long handles – This reduces strain on your back, shoulders, and wrists.
🌱 Listen to your body – If something feels tight, sore, or off, take a break and don’t push through pain.
