Hafford, MD, FACS, FASMBS is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. She trained in general surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and then completed a bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at The Methodist Hospital in Houston. With over 10 years of experience, she is an expert in helping her patients lose weight. Dr. Hafford understands that losing weight is a personal journey, and that weight loss options are not "one size fits all". Dr. Melanie L. Hafford, MD, FACS returns to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center as the Bariatric Surgery director at the UTSW Frisco Campus. She is a highly experienced Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgeon. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Hafford understands that losing weight is a personal journey, and that weight loss options are not "one size fits all". She provides her patients personalized care with a full range of weight loss options both with and without surgery. “Our goal is to provide our patients with comprehensive weight loss solutions, incorporating surgery for many as well as examining the psychosocial and lifestyle factors that contribute to weight gain.”
