Unpopular opinion, but an important one 👇
If you are anemic, liver supplements are not the right choice.

Anemia requires iron, not liver.

🩸 Iron supplements are targeted and effective when labs show true iron deficiency.

🌿 Liver, on the other hand, is best for those who are not anemic. It’s a whole-food supplement packed with bioavailable iron, B12, copper, and other nutrients your body recognizes and knows how to use.

Liver isn’t a treatment, it’s nourishment.
Iron treats deficiency.

Knowing the difference matters for your health and your baby’s.

Learning how to truly relax during pregnancy is not a luxury. It is foundational care. 🌿

Stress keeps your body in emergency mode. Stress hormones can override many of the hormones needed for a healthy pregnancy and smooth birth. When stress stays high, it can contribute to swelling, heartburn, immune suppression, and even increase the risk of complications like preeclampsia.

When you lower stress hormones, you make space for your body to do what it was designed to do. Blood flows better. Digestion improves. Immunity strengthens. Babies are calmer. Hormones work together instead of competing.

One of the most important things a pregnant mother can do for herself and her baby is learn how to intentionally relax her body and nervous system. Calm is not passive. Calm is powerful.

🎉 Happy Birthday x2 (and then x3!) 🎉

Monday was a whirlwind here at Frisco Midwifery as we welcomed two sweet baby boys just under three hours apart. And then, less than 24 hours later, a third little boy joined the party this morning!

✨ Fun facts from an unforgettable stretch of births:
• Baby #1 shares a birthday with his dad
• Baby #2 has the same name as Baby #1’s dad
• Both moms share the same first name
• Both babies have an older brother and an older sister
• Baby #1 weighed 7 lbs 12 oz
• Baby #2 weighed 7 lbs 2 oz
• Baby #3 came in bigger than both at 7 lbs 14 oz

Three fast births. Three strong moms. Three beautiful boys. What an honor it is to witness days like this. 💛

Let’s talk about white coat hypertension 🩺💛

It’s more common than most people realize. Many pregnant moms have perfectly normal blood pressure at home but higher readings in a clinical setting because of increased stress or anxiety.

What matters is this:
White coat hypertension is an early sign that your blood pressure is sensitive to stress. That sensitivity can increase the likelihood of developing high blood pressure disorders later in pregnancy, including preeclampsia.

This is why stress management isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. Breathwork, mindfulness, slowing your mornings down, hydration, protein, and a calm environment can truly protect your health.

If your numbers shift in different settings, you’re not alone. You’re not doing anything wrong. It just means your body is giving us important information… and we can work with that.
