From running in pain to running free 💙✨

When Amy was little, she loved to run fast, but the pain in her hip told another story. At 6 years old, she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, a condition where the hip joint does not develop as it should. In Amy’s case, both hips were resting dislocated with the ball out of the socket. For her, that meant surgery and months of recovery. ⏳🏃‍♀️

Her mom remembers the fear, but also the comfort of a care team that treated Amy with kindness, attention and love. From doctors and nurses to therapists and psychologists who helped calm her fears, every step of Amy’s journey was filled with support. 🩺👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Today, Amy proudly says, “I can walk. I can run. I can play with my friends.” She dreams of becoming a police officer or a veterinarian, proof that her future is as strong as her spirit. 👮‍♀️🐾 🌟

Amy’s name means “beloved by all,” and after seeing her courage, it is easy to understand why. 💙🙌

We’re excited to announce that our Movement Science Lab received a $1 million grant from Lyda Hill Philanthropies to study ACL injury prevention in young female athletes! 🌟

Led by Sophia Ulman, Ph.D., this groundbreaking study is using technology and training to address physiological changes observed in girls during different phases of their menstrual cycle. Because girls are eight times more likely to suffer an ACL injury than boys and 29 times more likely than adult women, our team is dedicated to exploring new ways to support injury prevention and meet the unique needs of young female athletes. Thank you to Lyda Hill Philanthropies for this transformative gift! 💙

"Dr. Harry Kim not only fixed my hip, but he protected my childhood.” 💙

At age 8, Pierre was diagnosed with Perthes disease, a rare hip disorder that changed the course of his life. With specialized care at Scottish Rite for Children, he learned he wasn’t broken—he was in progress. 🌟

Now 18, Pierre is paying it forward as a basketball coach, giving kids the same encouragement he once received. 🏀✨

Meet Parker – a true playmaker and ultimate team player! 🏈🏅

When he was younger, Parker tore his right ACL … and then two years later, his left while playing football. But he didn’t let that sideline his dreams. He turned to Scottish Rite for Children, where Dr. Philip Wilson performed surgery on both of Parker’s knees.

“What Dr. Wilson and Scottish Rite did to save Parker’s future athletic opportunities is invaluable. We owe Scottish Rite more than we could ever repay,” shares Parker’s dad, Jerry.

Now, Parker’s back to the sports he loves, chasing every play and every goal – and we’re cheering him on louder than ever! 🎉👏
