Yesterday, I had the absolute honor of speaking at the Black Moms Fair.
Surrounded by friends, family, and fellow mental health advocates, we created a space where Black women and moms could breathe, be seen, and be heard.
We poured into one another about what emotional well-being really looks like as a Black woman and mother
✨ Embracing the soft life without guilt
✨ Redefining rest as a birthright, not a luxury
✨ No longer asking for permission to protect our peace
✨ Knowing and honoring our capacity—physically, emotionally, spiritually
One of the biggest joys of the day was reconnecting with two of my high school friends now powerful, thriving moms. Full circle moments like that remind you how far you’ve come.
I also had the pleasure of sitting in the room with as she spoke on Black maternal health and the power of advocacy through her company, Baby Yams. Her words were powerful, necessary, and deeply affirming. I even purchased a quilt from the her to begin a new legacy in my own family.
From running into old clients, to supporting Black-owned businesses, to leaving with a full heart this experience was nothing short of divine alignment.
