COUNTERFEIT CAR SEATS: It's a scary thought, but fake car seats are a real danger. These seats often look like the real deal, but they may not meet safety standards, putting your child at serious risk in an accident.

This week, Michelle Cameron, Community Health Specialist for Intermountain Children's Health, shared important information to our local community about how to identify properly made car seats.

Parents can report counterfeit seats through STOPfakes.gov, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the U.S. Department of Commerce via their contact form.

A STORY OF RESILIENCY: On Tuesday, Intermountain Health gave a glimpse of the future of pediatric care in Las Vegas by unveiling the sign marking the future site for the first standalone children’s hospital in Nevada. The outpouring of community support to help make this project possible is tremendous and we are so grateful.

We’d especially like to recognize and thank our special guest family, who with Governor Joe Lombardo, unveiled the announcement sign. The Hernandez family know all too well the hardship of traveling out of state for specialized pediatric care. Nolan Hernandez was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia right after his 4th birthday. Since then, he and his family’s journey has been filled with challenges, hope, and resilience. This video shares their story.

World-class pediatric care ... now closer to home.

This afternoon, Intermountain Health unveiled a sign for a future stand-alone children’s hospital site at UNLV’s Harry Reid Research and Technology Park.

This is the first planned stand-alone pediatric hospital in Las Vegas as well as the entire state of Nevada, expanding our network of comprehensive children’s care.

We are in the design phase now and cannot wait to share more with our community as ideas turn into realities.
