On National Senior Citizens Day, the Pines at Hilton Head did not forget the precious ones that chose our community to call home. We take pride and heart into our activity programs for both traditional and memory care. Who better than Elvis himself to get us All Shook Up!! So thankful to Gene Styles who never disappoints and never declines to come when needed. He’s a treasure! No one was a yella belly on Friday August 18th, National I love Cowboys and Cowgirls Day as we celebrated the heroes of the west and modern day cowboys and cowgirls. Fun was had by all as we gathered at the Pines to bring the rodeo to the community. Howdy folks, come on and tour the cozy apartments and comfy halls of Pines at Hilton Head. We’re Fixin to get your apartment ready, Welcome Home and don’t worry a Cowboys word is his bond. See you soon pardner.

Last week Pines at Hilton Head showed why we're not only different but we make differences. August 6th was National Fresh Breath Day and we cleaned up. We got the memo. You don't just live here, you thrive here. We care about our residents head to toe.

Great oral care affects so many things. Taking care of your teeth and gums is paramount to good health. We gave residents and visitors a complementary packet with toothbrush, floss, toothpaste, and mouthwash. Stop by and get your complimentary gift, while you're here check out our apartments.

At the place where the price is always right, we welcomed August in with a spin. Spin of the wheel that is. Residents gathered round to participate in America's longest running game show!! The Price is Right. Bob Barker is not the only one that can do it. Congrats to the winner, Scott Green for a job well done.

Around the table or room, there was a recent discussion about the Depression and how it affected many of our residents. To add to the memory and realism, Depression Era Water Pie was served. Water pie, also known as "hard times pie" or "desperation pie". It gained popularity during the Great Depression when, many families struggled to afford staples like milk and eggs. Water pie offered a solution, allowing people to enjoy a dessert despite limited resources.
To hear the personal stories, heartbreaking. To see the triumph and strength in the heart and eyes of our residents is beyond touching.

At Pines at Hilton Head, we recognize the lives that struggled and became well lived despite changing times. Every resident in our community is respected and appreciated. We are family. It's not often you get to be a part of rare celebrations such as this. Our very special resident, Miss Peggy, one of the sweetest people you can meet turned 99. Hugs and well wishes overflowed as we enjoyed the serenading of the lady of honor by Mr. Cosacchi, a local singer and pianist. Asking her how it feels to turn 99, "No big deal". That calm demeanor is what's taken her so far. Pines at Hilton Head, this is where memories and moments matter. Walk in tours welcome. See you soon.

5 years ago this amazing young lady came to the Pines at Hilton Head. During the Covid outbreak in 2020!! This past week we celebrated with much ado her anniversary, our own Miss Toni. A long and outspoken advocate and ardent supporter of the community. It was a grand surprise we bestowed on this golf enthusiast. Gifts and hugs and an awesome Par-Tee!! We have an apartment with your name on it. Come where anniversaries are in no short supply. They come, they stay.. join us at the Pines.
