Mental Health Awareness Month was started by the Mental Health America (MHA) organization which used to be known as the National Association for Mental Health.🧠

The goal is for us to understand how important mental health is to our overall health. It is unfortunate that even now, a lot of people still have this stigma about mental illness.🧠

This is why a lot of people with mental illness are afraid to seek help.🧠

Hopefully, as people become more aware of the importance of mental health, it will also lessen the stigma against mental illnesses.🧠

Gone are the days when mental illness was treated as a moral issue that could be treated by instilling moral discipline because it is NOT.🧠

Rather, it is a medical condition, just like any other disease.🧠

This month also celebrates recovery from mental health illness because you can definitely recover from it if you have the right treatments and support. 🧠

So if you have mental health issues, don't be afraid to seek help. Don't ever be ashamed to take care of your mental health!πŸ§ πŸ‘Š
