🌺✨ We’re excited to launch a new series: Community Research Spotlight!

On the first Friday of every month, we’ll share inspiring projects from researchers and community members making an impact here in Hawaiʻi.

This month, we’re featuring PIKO Pilot Awardee Lori Daniels and her team, who worked alongside kūpuna to adapt storytelling practices into a Native Hawaiian version of Life Review (LR).

Their work inspired the PIKO Kūpuna Kards 36 🎴 — conversation cards designed to spark moʻolelo, strengthen pilina, and connect generations.

Mahalo nui to the research team for doing this work and sharing it with the community!

Stay tuned for a new spotlight every First Friday! 🎉 If you have any questions, please feel free to DM us.

Hawaiʻi’s rural communities have limited access to emergency medical services as well as reliable or affordable transportation options to access primary care and specialized healthcare services. These issues are particularly prominent for pregnant mothers. To address these needs, the University of Hawaiʻi Rural Health Research and Policy Center (UH RHRPC) designed and conducted a four-part project on the topic, entitled “The Impacts of Transportation and Travel Access on Rural Health in Hawaiʻi.”

Join this one hour webinar to learn more about the report’s findings, followed by a live Q&A session.
