Sweet gift, but the card message is even sweeter. This is why I love my job, although I don’t consider it a “job” per se. More like a calling, hard for me to see myself doing something else, although I definitely don’t want to do it past 60-65. I want to be still close to my full abilities when I retire (and God knows I have plenty things I’d love to do that i only talk about), but I see too many hanging on and doing surgeries when they should have stopped long ago. But I digress. I have the best calling and I am privileged and honored beyond words to play a small role in the lives of my patients. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

⚠️ Warning: Graphic Content Ahead

Sometimes life throws curveballs… and sometimes it swings a machete. 🪓😬

This patient came in with a devastating injury — his nose nearly sliced off and literally hanging by skin. The cut was so deep it fractured facial bones.

And this wasn’t “just” reattaching a nose. Reconstruction meant:
👃 Septum + bone inside (so he could breathe again)
👄 Upper lip — through & through, muscle, mucosa, even teeth roots exposed
👇 Lower lip — muscle + vermillion
➡️ Plus the delicate inner nasal lining

So it wasn’t only about looks — it was about breathing, chewing, and speaking.

Reconstructive surgery = anatomy + artistry. 🎭
Aesthetic procedures may polish beauty, but reconstructions restore life’s essentials.

👉 Pro tip: don’t just ask your surgeon, “Do you do faces?” Ask, “How many reconstructions have you done?” 😉
