🎃👻 Spooky fun was in full swing at Palolo Chinese Home! From a week packed with Halloween activities to our frightfully fun costume contest (for both residents and staff!) and a special performance that had everyone smiling — this celebration was all treats and no tricks! 🍬🧡

It’s always a joy to see our residents and team bring the spirit of Halloween to life — laughter, creativity, and community all wrapped up in one magical week. ✨🕸️

🌕 Earlier this month, our Mid-Autumn Moon Festival and Donor Appreciation Celebration brought together longtime supporters, staff, volunteers, and partners to honor 129 years of Caring for Generations.

Guests enjoyed live music by Lance Luke, a graceful hula by Beverly, Blossom, and Dorothy Mau of our Women’s Auxiliary, and delicious refreshments prepared by our talented culinary team. Guided tours of our campus shared stories of PCH’s rich history and an exciting look at the future — with upcoming facility upgrades focused on comfort, safety, and sustainability.

As longtime supporter Stanford Yuen shared, “I took the tour today and saw the modernization of the building and how happy the residents are. That’s the kind of organization I like to be a part of.”

Mahalo to everyone who joined us in celebrating this meaningful milestone, and for helping us continue our mission to care for Hawai‘i’s kūpuna with heart and excellence ❤️

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 🥮 Also called the Moon Festival, this special holiday is one of the most important traditional Chinese celebrations. It’s a time to gather with loved ones, share mooncakes, enjoy lantern displays, and reflect on the season’s blessings. We are thankful for the sense of unity and prosperity this festival brings to our community.

We had a wonderful time today at the PCH Women’s Auxiliary General Meeting at Jade Dynasty Restaurant. 🌸

Year after year, the Auxiliary has brought joy to our kūpuna—wrapping gifts, celebrating holidays, and simply spending time together. We are truly grateful for their love and care, which touches not only our residents but all of us at Palolo Chinese Home. 💕
