Did you know we have a Patient Advocate to serve as your go-to resource for concerns or questions about health care services received at Tripler Army Medical Center? The Patient Advocate also registers comments about great experiences a patient had at our facility. We want to hear from you! Please contact our office at 808-433-6336.

Military Treatment Facility Patient Advocates are trained experts with access to health care information and resources. They can provide a copy, and explain the content, of the Patient Bill of Rights and Responsibilities. They are great communicators and listeners whenever a patient or a family member has a concern to be addressed, investigated, and resolved in a timely manner.

When patients have a question or concern, the Patient Advocate is the source for resolution. Their responsibilities include:
Listening to patient concerns
Responding timely to complaints
Explaining military hospital or clinic policies, procedures, and operations
Mediating concerns between the patient and medical team.

Congratulations to Isabella Serrano and Staff Sgt. Arthur A. Garcia of the 25th Infantry Division on the birth of their child, the 25th "milestone baby" born to the division in 2026!

We were honored to celebrate this wonderful milestone with the Garcia family and leadership from Tripler Army Medical Center, Desmond T. Doss Health Clinic and the 25th Infantry Division. This event highlights the incredible partnership we share and our joint commitment to supporting our Tropic Lightning families. As Col. Aiden Shattock said, families are the backbone of our military's readiness and resilience.

Ambient listening is at Tripelr Army Medical Center! This voice recognition technology will assist your provider with notes, so the provider can focus on your care.

You must provide verbal consent before providers can use ambient listening during medical appointments. By taking care of the note taking in the background, ambient listening supports you with engaging more fully with providers, resulting in more personalized care and better outcomes.

Once reviewed for accuracy by the provider, clinical notes are promptly integrated into your electronic health record, supporting transparency and timely access of information.

You can expect to experience a greater sense of connection with your provider since the tool allows providers to fully engage in uninterrupted conversation with patients. Ambient listening technology creates greater opportunities for providers to spend more face-to-face time with you and less time populating notes during medical appointments.

Tripler Army Medical Center signs proclamation for Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month

Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii – On April 1, 2026, Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) held the Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (SAAPM) Proclamation Signing Ceremony at the TAMC Chapel. As part of the signing, TAMC staff reaffirmed their commitment to promoting a culture of dignity, respect, and accountability.

U.S. Army Col. William F. Bimson, TAMC director, delivered the SAAPM Proclamation to Soldiers, Sailors, and civilian staff from TAMC, Desmond T. Doss Health Clinic (DDHC), and the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU). Following the reading, both Col. Bimson and Command Sgt. Maj. Omar J. Bond signed the proclamation, underscoring the importance of its message.

This year's SAAPM theme, "Change through Unity: Empower. Protect. Prevent.," was the central focus of the ceremony. The proclamation signing served as a reminder of the medical center’s ongoing dedication to creating a safe and supportive environment for all service members and staff. It highlighted the importance of awareness, prevention, and providing essential support to those impacted by sexual violence.

“As proud members of TAMC, DDHC, and SRU, we pledge to ‘treat myself and others with dignity, care, and respect,’ and to take action whenever we witness behavior or hear language that is inappropriate, uncomfortable, or of a sexual nature,” said Bimson. “I will not be a bystander, waiting for someone else to act, inspired by this year’s impactful theme: “Change through Unity: Empower. Protect. Prevent.”

The ceremony brought together Soldiers, Sailors, and civilian staff from TAMC, the DDHC, and the SRU, reflecting a unified front against sexual violence. The collaboration between TAMC, DDHC, and the SRU in this initiative demonstrates a comprehensive and unified approach to raise awareness for this matter.
