Big news for rural Hawaiʻi! We’ve secured $188.9 million to transform healthcare across our neighbor islands and rural Oʻahu — from a statewide digital health network and telehealth hubs in schools, libraries and community spaces, to upgraded EMS, mobile clinics and expanded mental healthcare.

We’re also launching new rural residency and workforce programs, five medical respite centers, and a fund to help local providers adopt innovative, value-based care.

This is year one of a five-year effort to bring high-quality care closer to home — close to $1 billion in total.
