🌺 April 2 – World Autism Acceptance Day 🌺

Today, we recognize and celebrate autistic individuals across Hawai‘i and beyond.

Autism is not something to be “fixed”. It is a form of neurodiversity that shapes how individuals experience, communicate, and engage with the world.

At the Hawai‘i Association for Behavior Analysis (HABA), we are committed to promoting compassionate, ethical, and culturally responsive practices that support inclusion, dignity, and meaningful outcomes for the individuals and families we serve.

Let today be a reminder to move beyond awareness and toward acceptance, understanding, and action.

💙 Listen to autistic voices
💙 Advocate for inclusive environments
💙 Support access to quality, ethical services

Because of your support, something truly meaningful is happening this year.

We are just over 1.5 weeks away to World Autism Awareness Day which is an international movement for support declared by the United Nations in 2008, which is on April 2nd, 2026. The lighting display has been successful across the world to acknowledge this holiday.

For the first time ever, three iconic landmarks across Hawaiʻi will light up blue for World Autism Awareness Day on April 2**:

💙 Huliheʻe Palace (Kona)
💙 Hawaiʻi State Capitol (Oʻahu)
💙 King Kamehameha Statue (Hilo)

What started as a small grassroots effort has grown into a statewide movement—and you have been part of that journey.

Your past support has helped Autism Moms of Kona create inclusive spaces where families raising children with autism can connect, feel supported, and truly belong. This next step expands that impact across the entire state, sending a powerful message:

Our keiki are seen. Our families are supported. Our community stands together.

We’re reaching out because we can’t do this without you.

Your donation today will help fund the lighting installations, accessibility efforts, and community programming that make this experience possible for hundreds of families across Hawaiʻi.

Every contribution—big or small—helps us continue building a more inclusive Hawaiʻi.

Happy World Behavior Analysis Day 🌍

Shout out to behavior analysts, RBTs, and parents executing together to support meaningful behavior change.

Honorable mention to B. F. Skinner, whose work laid the foundation for the science we continue to build on today.

Consistency, teamwork, and follow-through make the difference.

Happy World Behavior Analysis Day! We’re proud to recognize the dedication and contributions of behavior analysts across the world. Thank you for the work you do to support individuals, families, and communities every day.
