Desmond T. Doss Health Clinic is hosting a Blood Battle Competition April 2-3.

The event, open to all military personnel, eligible family members, civilian staff, contractor staff, and personnel with base access, ages 18 and up, will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first floor of Building XX.

Donors are encouraged to schedule appointments in advance, and those who participate will receive a complimentary dri-fit "Blood Battle Competition" shirt, while supplies last.

To be eligible to donate, individuals must meet certain requirements, including:
• Presenting a valid picture ID, such as a state-issued ID, CAC, or military ID
• Not having donated blood in the past eight weeks
• Weighing at least 116 pounds
• Feeling well for at least three days prior to donation
• Being well-hydrated and having eaten before donating
• Travel history
• No overseas tattoos or piercings in the last 12 months
• List of current medications

The blood collected during the competition will support Tripler's Transfusion Service and the INDOPACIFIC contingency, with all donations meeting the INDOPACOM requirements for Operation Pathways.

UPDATE to include offical DoD statement: In alignment with President Trump's Executive Orders and Secretary Hegseth's directives, this memorandum mandates a digital content refresh across all DoD public platforms. By March 5, 2025, all Components must remove and archive DoD news articles, photos, and videos promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), including content related to critical race theory, gender ideology, and identity-based programs. The Defense Media Activity (DMA) will support systematic content removal from DVIDS and AFPIMS platforms, but Components remain responsible for ensuring compliance across all digital properties. A blanket public acknowledgment of content removal should be posted on social media and other platforms. Exceptions or extension requests must be submitted before noon on March 5, 2025.
