A powerful moment for our and the we serve. The Kahu shared a reminder that stuck with all of us: our crews are more than coworkers, they’re family and just as importantly, part of the larger Kauaʻi ‘ohana. Grateful to be welcomed in this way and proud to serve alongside this community.

A big day for Kauaʻi 🌺🚁

After yesterday’s blessing, our Kauaʻi rotor is officially in service. Mahalo to everyone who joined us, including Kaua'i Fire Department, Kauai Chamber, and Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke.

On an island where getting to advanced care can take hours, this changes everything. Patients can now be transported directly from the scene to the care they need, whether that’s across town or across islands.

We are excited to bring this service to the island, and are honored to care for the community

In the event of a flood, Hawaii Life Flight encourages Hawaiʻi to be safe and follow the National Weather Service’s warning message, “Turn Around, Don't Drown®.” Follow these safety tips today, so you can be safe during flood events:

• If flooding occurs, get to higher ground – stay away from flood-prone areas, including dips, low spots, valleys, ditches, washes, etc.

• Avoid flooded areas or those with rapid water flow – do not attempt to cross a flowing stream, it takes only six inches of fast-flowing water to sweep you off your feet.

• Don’t allow children to play near high water, storm drains or ditches – hidden dangers could lie beneath the water.

• Flooded roads could have significant damage hidden by floodwaters – NEVER drive through floodwaters or on flooded roads. Most vehicles can float away in only two feet of water.

• Do not park your vehicle along streams and washouts, particularly when threatening conditions exist.

• Monitor NOAA Weather Radio or your local media for vital weather-related information
