NEW CLASS!

I have heard so many parents say
‘I wish I knew better about breastfeeding!’

Not enough prenatal education is provided. And better preparation before your baby is born is the key to have a good start with breastfeeding.

I am going to start teaching ‘Breastfeeding Class for Expecting Parents’

When: 2nd Wednesday 6pm-7:30pm each month
Cost: $45/family

1) My baby is now 6months old.
2) I was having a lot of clogs and my breast was hard even after feeding. My shoulder blade all the way to my breast so having a sharp pain.
3) Yuko got rid of ALL of that pain. She made my experience not only comfortable but made sure what I should be doing to help my milk flow and for it to not happen again.

1) Baby is now four months
2) I was worried I had a clogged duct in the first month of breastfeeding and was referred to Yuko.
3) While it turns out that I didn’t actually have a clogged duct when I went to see Yuko, I did have a lot of backed up milk that could have led to a clog. I was nervous about going to see Yuko because of COVID and being worried about even leaving the house, but she was attentive to protocols and I felt her practice was hygienic and safe for me to be in. Yuko was so amazing and the massage felt incredible: my milk was flowing faster and all of the lumps had been worked out. I knew that I needed to keep seeing her to help with breastfeeding and maintenance. Not only is Yuko incredibly skilled, but she is also so passionate about her work. Her impressive expertise, professional demeanor, thoughtful advice, and dedication to both mother and baby are remarkable. I truly feel like every breastfeeding mother should see regularly see her. She is without a doubt the best.

What is a ‘lactation massage’...? (Most people actually call it ‘breast massage.’)

This is originally from Japan, and special skill that Japanese midwives have. Most people in the U.S. have never heard of it, but once they receive this treatment, they understand how much this technique helps their breastfeeding.

Lactation massage can help...
*the baby to get a good latch=the mom has less pain with nursing
*to release hard engorgement and to start good milk flows
*to stimulate the milk production
*to get rid of ‘leftover’ milk and start refilling fresh milk again
*to treat mastitis(breast infection)
...etc.

Now with this world situation, so many new moms have had tough time starting their breastfeeding, and it will be the similar situation for a while. You really wanna give your baby breast milk for their immunity if possible.

❤︎Prenatal Education Class for Japanese speaking moms❤︎
I love teaching this class! I do hope they have a beautiful birthing experience and a great start of their new journey as a mom!
全3回にわたる日本語の妊婦さんクラスが終了しました！普段はみんなで集まって行っていましたが、今回はコロナウイルスによる制限があり、オンラインで開催。2人の経産婦さんと2人の初産婦さんに参加していただき、妊娠中の身体のことや育児用品の準備、お産の始まりや進み方、母乳育児について一緒に学びました。
ハワイ在住の日本人のママはたくさんいますが、お産のことや育児のことを日本語で学べる場はほとんどありません。その上、入院日数がたったの2泊(帝王切開でも3泊…)と短く、不安なまま退院。誰に相談したらいいのか、どうやっておっぱいをあげたらいいのか、わからずに困っている新米ママ達がほとんどだと思います。
出産や育児は、正解・不正解や成功・失敗で判断できないことがほとんどです。ママ本人、家族、生まれてくる赤ちゃん、それぞれにベストだと思えるチョイスをしていくしかないのです。わたしの役割は、正しい知識や情報を提供すること。知らないところから、知るところへ導くこと。それぞれのママが納得できる出産や育児ができるようサポートすること。
助産師として、母親として、伝えたいこと山盛りでクラスをさせていただきました！
また年明けに開催しようと思います。参加希望の方、DMください！周りに妊婦さんがいらっしゃる方、シェアお願いします！

あっという間に、今年も残すところ4ヶ月を切りました！2021年は絶対に良い年にしたーい！

年末から来年にかけて、お産を控えている方もたくさんいらっしゃると思います。もともとハワイでは、日本語でお産のことや母乳育児のことを学べる場がほぼゼロなんですが、こんな状況でさらにクラスが受けられないままお産！？という不安もあると思います。

ご希望があったので、オンラインで出産準備クラスを行うことにしました！オンラインなので、地球のどこからでも参加可能です！
日程は

10/24、31、11/7(いずれも土曜)16:00-17:30

になります。

I was not sure how it goes teaching yoga classes online. I’m definitely a hands-on kind of person, so miss teaching at the studio. But we have no choice now! I could be lazy and take a ‘Corona vacation,’ but I needed to teach this class. I have to support these moms who are expecting and anxious at this time, and supporting people keeps me ‘alive.’ I have not even charged. This is my Karma now... and actually I love teaching online as much as teaching personally! I got connections from the Mainland, Europe and Japan! Isn’t it amazing!? I’m glad I decided to do this!
オンラインでヨガを教えるのにはすごく抵抗があった。わたしは絶対、直接会って手を当ててサポートしたいタイプ。でもこんな状況で選択肢はない…スタジオは閉まっちゃって、コロナ中はお休み〜！っていうのもありだったけど、でもまだヨガを教えていたかった。こんな状況で妊娠中のママ達を心身ともにサポートしたい。そして人をサポートすることで、自分が「生きて」いられる、自分自身の性格をよく知ってるから。毎週2回、英語バージョンと日本語バージョン、1時間しっかり教えさせてもらってます。今は無料。この状況でお金をもらう気持ちになれなくて。これはわたしの使命・カルマだと思う。結果、このクラス本当に最高！スタジオで教えるのと同じぐらいオンラインクラスも好き！特別なのは、世界から繋がれるってこと。ハワイから、アメリカ本土から、日本から、ヨーロッパから、みんなのエネルギーを思い切り感じて、毎回嬉しくて泣きそうになる。思い切って始めてよかった！しばらくは無料で続けていくつもりです。

For expecting women, this whole situation looks too crazy and they must feel so anxious to bring their baby to this world. Being a mom in this situation is tough. I really hope my prenatal yoga and mommy yoga classes support the moms to keep their hope and brightness. One of my students is gonna have her baby very soon.
