Today is National Children’s Mental Health Day and we wanted to recognize that mental health is just as important as physical health in a child’s growth and development.

Studies show that positive mental health is essential to a child’s healthy development from birth and helps promote positive youth development, resiliency, emotional well-being, and recovery throughout life.

Every child deserves support, encouragement, and access to caring individuals who can help them thrive.

If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and helping foster positive, healthy minds for future generations, we’d love to hear from you.

As Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month comes to a close, we want to take a moment to highlight the work of one of our own, our Maui based BCBA Jackie.

Jackie created a series of thoughtful and informative family handouts to support caregivers and loved ones - to better understand and respond to behaviors associated with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

These topics include:
Understanding “stimming”
Supporting regulation during a meltdown
What certain behaviors may be communicating
Practical ways to respond with empathy and support

These flyers are a meaningful step toward understanding, compassion, and connection for individuals with ASD and their families.

Mahalo, Jackie, for making a positive impact in the lives of the families we serve!
