Apply pressure to the extraction area by gently but firmly biting down on the gauze packs placed over the surgical site. Ensure that the gauze stays in place without being disturbed for at least 30 minutes and then reapply clean gauze until the bleeding has stopped. This patient was missing one of their upper front teeth! Not only was it causing them pain and discomfort when eating but it also led to a lack of confidence in their smile.
