Hawaii pharmacists - it’s time. HPhA will be proposing PHARMACIST PROVIDER STATUS in 2023!! Come hear more about this initiative at our General Meeting on September 30th.

Our keynote speaker Michael Murphy is the Advisor for State Government Affairs at the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). He will be speaking on Pharmacist Provider Status: Payment for Pharmacist Services in Hawaii and Beyond. Come hear about HPhAs path to provider status, what this will look like in Hawai’i, how we compare to other states across the country, and how YOU can get involved.

Pharmacists are trained and ready for numerous non-dispensing roles!! It’s time to position ourselves to be financially incentivized to practice at the top of our licenses alongside other members of the healthcare team.

Could reimbursement for pharmacy services similar to other healthcare professionals be a missing piece to solving many of Hawaii’s access to care issues? Register by THIS Wednesday September 21st and come find out!!

The prescription drug market is dominated by three Fortune-25 corporations with ownership interests in pharmacies and insurance companies. They’re called Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and they decide which pharmacies patients must use (often their own), the out-of-pocket cost for patients, and how much their pharmacist will be reimbursed. Congress can stop these giant middlemen from destroying pharmacies and fleecing patients by passing S 1909/HR 3554.

The Hawaii Pharmacists Association is committed to the health of our community and of the healthcare professionals who both directly and indirectly care for our community.
As a result, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Meeting due to the growing concern regarding COVID-19.
It has yet to be determined if the Annual Meeting will be postponed to a later date or if our General Meeting, currently scheduled for October 2020, will be modified to accommodate elements that were originally planned for our Annual Meeting.
Thank you for your understanding.
