The Integrative Medicine Center was founded and is directed by Dr. Ann Wang. Dr. Wang has studied both Western and Eastern Medicine and served as a teaching physician in the hospital at Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TMC) in China. Before coming to the United States, she also practiced Integrative Medicine as both a Western Medicine and Eastern Medicine practitioner. Dr. Wang
’s (Ph.D., L.Ac) background, previous training and work experience of integrating both conventional and complimentary medicine practices in China directly inspired her to establish the Integrative Medicine Center in the US. As she began her career in Ithaca, Dr. Wang realized that the culture and environment would foster her dream of practicing Integrative Medicine. As a part of the community, she found other talented practitioners in the area who shared a similar dream of creating an integrative medicine practice. On November 1, 2002, Dr. Wang’s dream came to fruition as the Integrative Medicine Center opened its doors. Since its opening, the Integrative Medicine Center has been greatly accepted and supported within the Ithaca community. Seven years ago, Integrative Medicine did not have as great of a presence as does today. The Integrative Medicine Center has been well received locally and has been recognized as one of the pioneers of Integrative Medicine in this country. Practitioners at IMC:
