- 1-2 cloves garlic, minced (10 calories)
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water (30 calories, for thickening)

**For Serving:**
- 1 cup cooked brown rice (approx. 215 calories, 45g carbs, 3g fiber) or quinoa (approx. 222 calories, 40g carbs, 5g fiber)
- Steamed broccoli or mixed veggies (approx. 55 calories, 5g fiber)

I wanted to share an important reminder about why being calorie conscious is crucial for weight loss. On 11/4, I walked 5.1 miles and only burned 195 calories! 😜

It’s easy to think that we can reward ourselves with extra calories just because we’ve exercised. While some activity can burn off more calories, it often takes intense workouts and higher resistance to make a significant difference. In fact, managing our food intake is often more effective for reaching our weight goals than overexerting ourselves on the treadmill.

We definitely encourage regular exercise, as it boosts mood, strengthens the heart, enhances endurance, and builds overall body strength and balance. But if you're aiming for weight loss, it's essential to keep your calorie intake in check.
