🧠 Quick Guide to Reactive Attachment Disorder: What Parents & Providers Need to Know 🧠

📚 The Child Mind Institute just released a Quick Guide to Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD)—a clear, compassionate breakdown of symptoms, diagnosis criteria, and evidence-based treatment strategies. At Youth Home, RAD isn’t just something we treat—it’s our specialty. At any given time, more than half of our residents live with RAD or another attachment-related diagnosis. Here’s why families and referring providers choose us:

Why choose Youth Home for RAD treatment?
👩‍⚕️ Expertise you can trust — We’ve built in-depth experience helping adolescents aged 12–17 work through RAD and attachment challenges.

🏡 Specialized residential care — Our secure, trauma-informed environment is designed for teens of all genders, offering structure, stability, and safety.

🧩 Integrated, individualized treatment — We blend individual therapy, family involvement, and parenting education with proven attachment-based models.

🌱 Whole-family healing — Our approach helps teens form deep, healthy bonds—with themselves, their caregivers, and peers.

🏘️ If you’re a parent or provider working with a teen struggling to connect, heal from trauma, or overcome attachment wounds, Youth Home is the destination you’ve been looking for.

💙 This July, we're honoring Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month and the powerful truth that community is medicine—and it starts with one conversation.

At Youth Home, we see daily how breaking the silence can transform lives. Our teens deserve mental health support that's accessible, affirming, and rooted in understanding. Mental health isn't a privilege—it's a right that belongs to all of us. Every young person deserves to have their story heard and their healing journey supported.

🏡 Recently, we celebrated the dedication of Napier House—the newest house in our program, designed to help girls in our care build independence, strengthen social skills, and prepare for their next step—whether that's returning home, joining a new community, or transitioning to another level of care.

Named in honor of our former CEO, David Napier, this home reflects his legacy of compassion and commitment to youth mental health. We were deeply moved to have David and his family join us for the dedication ceremony.

💙 Thank you, David, for your years of service—and for inspiring a space that will help so many teens thrive.

They connected with so many amazing workers who currently have kids in our care, have applied to one of our programs in the past, or who aren't yet familiar with our programs. We are always grateful for the chance to build relationships, meet new faces, and share more about what we do at Youth Home.

At Youth Home, we honor Juneteenth as a celebration of freedom—and a reminder that the work of equity, justice, and healing is ongoing.
