Dr. Robert Chugden joined our Medical Staff in 1987 as an emergency medicine physician. He then served as the Medical Director of Emergency Services for 13 years before taking on the role of Chief Medical Officer.

His recent retirement is bittersweet, as Dr. Chugden’s influence will continue to resonate in the halls of West Jefferson Medical Center for years to come. Dr. Chugden has truly embodied the spirit of the Frank C. Di Vincenti, MD Community Leadership Award through his unwavering commitment to quality patient care and his mentorship of the next generation of physicians.
