Welcome!I have a background in retail management, and am graduate of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Nursing. After college, I started a family and raised my kids at home for 10 years before deciding to return to the work force. I've been doing yoga on and off for almost 20 years, but have been more dedicated to my p

ractice consistently in recent years. During the summer of 2020, I became a 200RYT graduate from the Yoga Alliance certified teacher training program offered at The Yogi Perogi in Melbourne, Florida. Happy Friday!!!

In yoga, we try our best to practice and incorporate all 8 limbs of yoga, with The Yamas being the first limb. The Yamas are considered restraints, and there are 5 of them: Ahimsa, Satya, Asteya, Brahmacharaya, and Aparigraha. Over the next several weeks I'll go through each Yama and we'll learn how we can incorporate them into our lives and into our yoga practice ❤

Happy Monday! Let's talk about 'Ahimsa' 😀

A virtue that we could all benefit from practicing in our lives is something called Ahimsa. What is it? It translates to "non- violence" or "non-harm". Practicing Ahimsa allows us to live in such a way that we are causing no harm in thought, speech, or action to any living being, including OURSELVES. It all starts with our thoughts. Our self-thoughts.

Nobody is perfect, but I truly believe that trying our best to incorporate this virtue into our lives will allow for a more peaceful, content, pure, satisfied, and positive daily outcome.
