What do you think of this? I know that from my clinical experience, we can treat the phone like a drug- like caffeine, to***co, or THC. It takes quite a bit of willpower to use your phone and have it not use you. If you're feeling hooked on tech and would like help, please reach out to me.

I want to share about a truly free- no gimmicks- resource for parents and teachers. It is a therapeutic curriculum founded in some of the newest cognitive science. Early intervention is key, and right now our kids are struggling. This website offers so much information and guidance on how to weave positive change into the crumbling school system. Let's save our kids from the sinking ship. Adults will love it too! If you're wanting to help children ages 4-11 thrive more, please take a moment to check out the Connect Curriculum

DNA-V is an approach from the latest developments in Clinical Psychology. In Connect, training in this approach gives children the skills to be able to relate to their inner world in useful ways.

This is a conversation that I often have with my teen clients, who get home from school and just want to be alone in their rooms. A day of being tested, nagged, under fluorescent lights, and ungrounded- and you haven’t had peace all day. Our environments play a vital role in our mental wellbeing

I love being a behaviorist. It's not as cold and robotic as the stereotypes go. No, being a behaviorist means to look at life with a particular kind of lens, that treats life as an experiment and helps us come up with some good ideas on why things happen the way they do. I found this study fascinating

Annoyance is the price we pay for connection... I love that statement! I encounter so much loneliness in my practice. When I help people work towards building community, feelings of burnout, overwhelm, and fears of rejection tend to emerge. It's hard to develop new skills of connection when we've been conditioned to isolate. I hope to help you build your community!

Here's an article I wrote about the problems with the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, and our pathologizing paradigm in general:

The DSM certainly helped organize dysfunctions, and it provides an understanding of symptomology (the behaviors associated with problems), but disorders have become so integrated into our culture that we're now defining ourselves by them.
