UPDATE FOR AUGUST 29 -- BOIL WATER NOTICE HAS BEEN RESCINDED:
The boil water notice issued on August 28 is hereby rescinded following the satisfactory completion of the bacteriological survey showing that the water is safe to drink.

ORIGINAL ADVISORY ISSUED AUGUST 28:
The City of Melbourne has issued a boil water notice for all Melbourne water customers. We advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes, be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used. The boil water notice is expected to remain in effect until the required bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink. We will post an update here and on all of our other platforms including the City website at that time.
