⚛️CHEMOTHERAPY (especially platinum based drugs like cisplatin and carboplatin):
• Can cause permanent sensorineural hearing loss (high frequency loss most common).
• May also trigger tinnitus (ringing or buzzing in ears).
☢️ RADIATION THERAPY (especially to the head/neck region):
• May damage the cochlea, auditory nerve, or surrounding tissues.
• Can cause conductive hearing loss due to scarring or fluid buildup.
• Hearing problems may appear months or years after treatment.
