Say hello to John 👋🏼

John was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2023. His first symptom was tremors in his hand. After seeing a neurologist, he learned about Rock Steady Boxing and decided to check out a class. He was instantly hooked!

Since joining, John says he’s physically able to move around much better and feels that Rock Steady Boxing helps prolong his symptoms.
He especially loves the fellowship and the support group, where you can learn what’s going on in real time, discover new ways to help yourself, and support others living with Parkinson’s.

John says it all puts you in the mood to fight against Parkinson’s.

We love seeing him in our boxing classes — always smiling and bringing his great sense of humor to the group!
John fights hard !

Say hello to John! 👋🏼

John was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s about three years ago. He noticed tremors in his hands, found himself fumbling while walking, and was moving much slower. that’s when he decided he needed to get checked out.

He discovered Rock Steady Boxing through Janice, the owner of the program, and later his neurologist also recommended it. Since joining, John has seen incredible improvements — he’s walking straighter, no longer hunched over, and feels much stronger. 💪🏼

The most amazing part? He’s back to singing live again! 🎤🎶
As a musician, John once thought his career was over, but Rock Steady gave him his life — and happiness — back.

He says the camaraderie here is everything. During his first year of diagnosis, he felt incredibly alone… until he walked into Rock Steady and saw a familiar face. They shared a big bear hug 🤗 and instantly reconnected.

Now, John is one of our biggest advocates! He encourages anyone with Parkinson’s to give Rock Steady a try.

We LOVE having John in our classes — and watching him sing karaoke always brings the biggest smiles to our faces! 💙🎤

Say hello to Grace! 👋🏼

Grace was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease about 4 years ago. She first noticed changes in her posture, stiffness in her arms, and a significant loss of energy.

She was lucky to reconnect with an old friend who told her about Rock Steady Boxing at Advance Fitness in Melbourne, where a mutual friend was already finding hope and strength. 🙌🏼
Grace reached out to Janice right away to get started — and we’re so glad she did!

When Grace first came to class, she needed a walker to get around. But now? She hasn’t used a walker in a very long time!
She credits the classes for helping her with balance, arm strength, and building confidence. And she loves to punch the bag and play beach ball with her Rock Steady family! 🥎🧤

Her advice to anyone newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s:
“Call Rock Steady first — don’t wait! Come to class, you’re going to feel so much better!”

We just LOVE seeing Grace walk in with her bright smile and the cutest outfits!
She never gives up — and she’s got her amazing husband Joe by her side, cheering on the whole gym!

Say hello to RED 👋🏼

Red was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2005. He began noticing issues with his balance and later developed additional symptoms, including tremors.

He discovered Rock Steady Boxing through a family member who had heard about our amazing program. At first, it was a bit of a fight to get him to come—but now, Red truly enjoys the camaraderie, the laughs, and the exercise.

Since joining, he says he’s definitely improved. He has more energy, a sharper mind, and has even made some great friends along the way.

We always know when Red walks through the door—it’s going to be a great day! 😄 His little smile brightens up the room, and he’s always ready to joke around or give it right back to you!

✨ He’s such an inspiration, and we’re so happy to have him in our Rock Steady family!
