Dogs are pure presence. They’re not worried about yesterday. They’re not rehearsing tomorrow. They’re here and NOW

And when you’re around that kind of presence, your body starts to match it. Petting a dog gives your brain sensory proof that you’re in this moment. Warmth. Softness. Steady breathing.
That pulls you out of spiraling thoughts and back into the body.

It all comes down to a chemical reaction, oxytocin, the bonding hormone your body releases when you feel safe, connected, and cared for.

When you pet a dog, cuddle them, or even share gentle eye contact, your brain can release oxytocin. And as oxytocin rises, your stress response tends to turn down. Cortisol can drop. Your heart rate can settle. Your body gets the message.

ARE YOU A DOG LOVER TOO ? Share your dogs name and story below 🐾❤️🐶

Ps:
If you don’t have a dog you can visit the local shelter or connect with local rescues to become a foster home or to inquire on how to adopt a new family member. Your nervous system will be happy🐾❤️

✨ Yin Yoga with Kate The Great ✨
Starting Tuesday, February 3rd

Yin Yoga invites us into stillness—creating space to explore not only the physical body, but also the mental, emotional, and subtle energetic layers within.

In this 60-minute, deeply grounding practice, poses are held passively for 3–5 minutes and supported with props to gently target the connective tissues (fascia). The focus is on relaxation, sensation, and awareness, allowing the nervous system to settle and the body to soften.

This practice isn’t about how a pose looks—it’s about how it feels. You’ll be encouraged to listen inward, honor your body in the moment, and soften around the edges rather than force.

✨ Expect:
• A calming, supportive atmosphere
• Deep rest and nervous system regulation
• Increased flexibility, circulation, and joint health
• Emotional balance and mental clarity
• A slower, meditative approach to yoga

🧘‍♀️ Great for:
Anyone seeking stress relief, deep relaxation, or a mindful complement to a more active practice.
All levels • All ages • Always welcome

OVERTHINKING. If your nervous system is already activated, overthinking can feel like it is trying to keep you safe. But it usually does the opposite. It tightens the body, speeds up the heart, and traps you in loops. Here is a very useful skill that helps me, is called cognitive defusion. It means you stop looking through your thoughts and start looking at your thoughts.
You don’t have to fight your mind to feel calm.
You just have to stop letting every thought drive the nervous system. 🙏❤️
