We’re so thankful that Brevard County wasn’t hit hard by the storm. We know it’s been a stressful time for a lot of us, though, with all the preparation and worry. With Hurricane Milton approaching, we know many are feeling extra stressed and anxious. If you’re finding it hard to stay calm, here’s a grounding technique that may help bring a little peace in the midst of uncertainty:

1. Take a deep breath in, and slowly exhale.
2. Look around and name five things you can see.
3. Touch four different objects and notice their textures.
4. Listen for three distinct sounds.
5. Notice two scents in the air.
6. Focus on one thing you can feel inside, like your heartbeat or your breath.
