Pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Case of the Day!
Our sweet, 9-year-old boy was referred by his pediatric and orthodontic specialty dental offices due to a failure of eruption of the right maxillary central Incisor. This tooth usually erupts into the mouth at age 7-8. At age 9, orthodontic and surgical intervention was required due to a mesiodens that blocked the eruption of the right adult central incisor.

Mesiodens are extra supernumerary teeth located in the anterior maxilla and disturb the eruption of adult teeth. Surgical removal of the supernumerary mesiodens was required along with surgical exposure and bonding of gold orthodontic bracket and chain for forced orthodontic eruption into the oral cavity.

Our 9-year-old boy was treated in-office with intravenous general anesthesia with an excellent outcome.

Huge shoutout to our all-star track standout Grayson Frantz for his two FIRST PLACE 🥇 FINISHES in the 800M and 1600M at the Brevard County Middle School Track Championships at Viera High School! Onwards and upwards to the State Track Championships!!!

Huge shoutout to these incredible 8th graders!

Olivia Davis brought home 1st place in both the 800 and the 1600 (mile) — and she’s headed to STATES in BOTH events!

Grayson Frantz also claimed 1st place in both the 800 and the 1600 (mile) and has officially qualified for STATES in the 1600!

Both these athletes are back to back 7th and 8th grade winners in these events!
