Did you know having your procedure performed at at an ambulatory surgery center(ASC) can save you money!?!
Data has shown that U.S. healthcare costs are reduced by more than $38 billion per year due the availability of ASCs for outpatient procedures[1]
More than $5 billion of that cost reduction is accrued to the patient in savings[2]
Hospitalizations involving operating room procedures constituted 29 percent of the total 38.6 million hospital stays in the United States in 2011, and they accounted for 48 percent of the total $387 billion in hospital costs.[3]
Healthcare Savings
In 2016, orthopedic outpatient procedures performed at ASCs had an average cost savings of 17.6 to 57.6 percent, compared to similar procedures performed at hospitals
the ASCA concluded that knee arthroscopy patients could have saved $1,275 in out-of-pocket costs by choosing to have their procedure done at an ASC.[4]
